Jennifer Haynie was a vibrant, beautiful young
woman who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma one
month before graduation from Pearland High School
in 2007. She bravely fought back undergoing
chemotherapy, radiation, and several major surgeries, to no avail. In May 2008, she died at M.D. Anderson Hospital.
The Haynie Spirit Bone Cancer Foundation is a 501
(c)(3) fundraising charity dedicated to saving and
improving the lives of people affected by
Osteosarcoma. It is our hope to preserve Jennifer's
memory and honor her Spirit for life by improving
the lives of other young people with bone cancer.
Our mission is threefold:
• Increase public awareness (especially among
teachers, coaches, parents, trainers and general
pediatricians) about Osteosarcoma and its
symptoms
• Support patients and their families while
undergoing treatment at MD Anderson or Texas
Children’s Hospital in Houston
• Fund Research for a cure
